Which glasses suit my face shape?
It can be so hard when buying designer glasses online when you aren’t sure which style of frame suits your face shape. So to help we’ve put together a page to help you choose. Not only will we help you choose the right frame, but we’ll also show you our virtual try on, so you try before you buy online - just as you would if you went to a shop. You’ll be able to see if that stylish frame suits you.
Round Faces
If you have a round face shape, your cheeks and forehead are about the same width and your chin will be rounded. To add length and contour to your face we recommend a rectangular frame-shaped like the example below. Avoid round or oval frames, as they won’t create the flattering aesthetic you will get when wearing a rectangular frame.
Square Faces
Do you think your face shape as square? If you do have a square face shape you will find that your forehead, cheeks and chin are equally broad, you might also have a chiselled jawline which is a distinctive feature of having a square face. Your go-to eyewear shapes are oval, aviator, cat-eye or round glasses as they often soften these features and create a flattering style. If you prefer a dominant, harsh aesthetic then go for square frames as they emphasise the angular facial features. If you prefer a more soft look then we advise you to shop the frame styles below:
Heart-Shaped Faces
You may have a heart-shaped face shape. This face shape consists of these typical features: a broad forehead, prominent cheekbones and a narrow chain. You are lucky if you have this face shape as you will suit pretty much any eyewear frame you want. Round, oval square, oversized, cat-eye all suit your face shape, you could be experimental and try these frames in bold colourways or oversized retrofits as you can tend to pull off a bold look. Tip- If you do want a more contoured look then go for an angular frame shape!
Oval Faces
Features of oval face shape are narrow cheeks and forehead, pronounced chin and a longer face shape than it is wide. These proportions are usually balanced. Again if you have this face shape you will find it easy to find a pair of glasses you love. Any style you fancy will look good on you, whether you prefer a statement round frame, an elegant rectangular shape or a bold cat-eye. The only advice we would give is to avoid petite narrow frames, so maybe stay away from our retro page, as they can make your face shape look longer.
