David Beckham has signed a 10-year license with Italian eyewear specialist’s the Safilo Group. As a retailer, we had to get our hands on this exclusive collection with David Beckham and Safilo because the collection was both innovative in design and optical elements, qualities we knew our customer would love. We are now eagerly waiting for our stock to arrive.

Although he is known for his football skills, David Beckham has turned into a worldwide fashion icon and has gone on to partner up with fashion brands Adidas, L’Oreal and now Safilo, to create another business venture in which he can connect with his fans. Safilo already owns the licenses for some of the biggest names in the fashion industry; Dior, Fendi, Givenchy and Max Mara. They design, manufacture and distribute all the eyewear collections for both sunglasses and prescription glasses. The David Beckham brand will now be added to their portfolio.

DB Eyewear has been designed to reflect David Beckham’s personal image and brand combining an effortless British style and attitude with a vintage, timeless spirit and a sharp focus on detail and functionality.
The DB Eyewear collection features a newly created monogram for the first time. The ‘DB’ mark immediately defines this eyewear as the best there is using the Safilo Group craftsmanship, design skills and materials to create such a detailed collection.
The range is not only detailed in design elements but with lenses too. The collection consists of a variety of frames in sunglasses and optical complemented by a number of lenses using lightweight materials, special mineral, polar or photochromic lenses, therefore the collection consists of versatile functional accessories which can be worn at any time, anywhere in the world and for any occasion.
MEET THE COLLECTION
The David Beckham collection is dedicated to a consumer interested in a timeless design with a London feel, representing Beckham’s roots. Acetate and metal frames feature a masculine design, exquisite craftsmanship and distinctive details included in a range of hues from an elegant colour palette to classic metal shades.
A variety of detailed product features are included in the range:
- The Talisman - Iconic detail in the eyewear collection, a metallic mark placed on the arms of the glasses, initially inspired by the wings of a bird, symbolising power, protection and freedom.
- The DB Monogram - DB Monogram lasered on the frontal lens and engraved logo on the inner tip.
- The Materials - High-quality Acetate and metals, high-quality lenses, practical clip-ons and photochromatic lenses available.
To fit a range of consumer needs, the collection has been split into three design concepts; the Timeless Icon, Style Pioneer and The Traveller.

DB 1000 SUNGLASSES - TIMELESS ICON
The timeless icons collection has a contemporary feel and is subtle in details. These glasses are dedicated to the stylish on-trend man finding inspiration in global icons. These glasses are perfect to shop if you are looking for the right accessory for a special event.
The DB 1000/s Sunglasses are an acetate model derived from the Safilo archive. Inspired by an authentic heritage these sunglasses take on the elongated oversize drop shape, with bold profiles. These shades are available in black with grey lenses, black with brown, and Havana with green lenses.
DB 7005 SUNGLASSES - STYLE PIONEER
These frames are both timeless and subtle in design, this collection consists of both optical and sunglass frames, designed for the consumer who is after a vintage accessory with a British mood. Designed for everyday occasions to always be in style.
A playful mix between retro design with a contemporary twist is the DB 7005, these acetate frames feature subtle details and drop shape, with a slim metal nose to add personality to the shape. This frame is available in black with a gold bridge, grey shaded lenses, brown Havana with a choice of coloured and polarized lenses.
DB 7019 SUNGLASSES - THE TRAVELLER
This collection is designed for the Traveller, looking fr the most comfortable and functional accessory to complement their look for personal and business travels. These frames offer functional and versatile qualities with a choice of both photochromic and polarized lenses.
The DB 7019 is a lightweight, stainless steel frame in a caravan shape complemented by stylish features, a double bridge and slim temples. There is a varied colour palette available in this frame including dark black ruthenium, Havana, Gold and palladium with a range of lens tints.
