Sunglasses: The Summer Festivals guide
Festival season is upon us – this means Wireless, Glastonbury and Isle of Wight are on their way. The sun is still playing hide and seek with us, but we’re confident that the festival gods will look favourably upon us and deliver some great weather to us. 2015 is set to be an eventful year with all of our favourite artists making the journey over to us to perform. So “what are the essentials when it comes to festival eyewear?” you may be asking. Well, we’ve comprised a list of options for all the usual types of festival goers, which type are you?
- The first timer
You’ve probably been saving up for a while to attend your first festival with either your friends or close companions. You don’t want to overdo it but want to create memories you can cherish for a long time. One much loved festival brand is Fendi which has been spotted perched on the faces of celebrities like Cara Delevigne and Lily Allen. We like the Cat – eye shaped Fendi Iridia FF0060 sunglasses in a cool toned beige palladium colour.
The second option is from Giorgio Armani in the form of the AR8060 sunglasses. If you want a pair of sunglasses that can go with all you outfits then a black pair is quite the solid choice. These sunnies have round shaped lenses making them suitable for most face shapes.
The last pick for the first time festival goer is from Italia Independent. We love this bright pair in a stunning pink tone that is sure to make you feel like summer has arrived. The biggest draw for festivals is people looking to explore their more creative and free spirited sides, these II0204 sunglasses are the gateway to realising that ideal.
- The party animal
The party animals know how to really experience festivals and create the best possible memories. In order to party to the fullest, you need to be able to party in style. The best sunglasses for you, in our opinion, would no doubt be a pair from Italia Independent. The II0021 sunglasses in a green mirror colour are summer ready and make a statement in the right way. The aviator style is suitable for most face shapes making it versatile and your best friend.
The second and third options are from Marc Jacobs and Ray-Ban, two very distinct brands that know how to make a great pair of sunnies. The first of the two is the MJ358 in a black havana colour; the second is the classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer in a festival ready colour of your choice.
- The chilled free spirit
The first pair we like is the Ray-Ban CATS, gone are the days when “free –spirited” meant that you had to adhere to a certain stereotype. We like the fact that these sunnies tie in with one of this summer’s hottest trends, the transparent sunglasses trend.
Illesteva is a brand we recently just added to our catalogue, and we must say we think some of their models are festival ready. We like the Milan II sunglasses for their glamorous simplicity as well as their timelessness.
The last pair we have for you is from the French brand Lanvin led by designer Alber Elbaz. The SLN630 sunglasses have thick frame arms which makes them sturdy enough for those crazy mosh pit moments. The lens shape is square which makes it versatile and suitable for most face shapes.
- The glamorous festival goer
The first option we have for all you glamorous festival goers are the Dior Audacieuse 1 in a solid blue black colour. These sunnies are large enough to protect your eyes from the sun’s harmful UV rays all whilst keeping you looking stylish.
For the daring and glamorous individual we like these Carrera 5001 sunglasses in a grey yellow colour. We think that stunning wardrobe of yours could benefit from having some great popping colours these sunnies provide.
Our last option for you is from Bottega Veneta and they are the B.V. 229S. We like them in the transparent brown colour as the transparent frames are on trend this season. The square shape of these sunglasses is most suited to people with heart shaped and oval faces. However the versatility of these frames means just about anyone can rock them.
